I am a recovering alcoholic, gambler, and other addiction problems. I published a book, Gripped by Gambling, where the readers can follow the destructive path of the compulsive gambler, a prison sentence, and then on to the recovery road. I am currently publishing a second book, Switching Addictions, that describes the challenges the addict encounters as they work toward recovery. I also publish an online newsletter, Women Helping Women, which has been on-line for more than ten years and is read by women around the world. I would like to suggest you add the link to the newsletter to your link page. (www.femalegamblers.info)

Sincerely,

I realize this was a private commission but I guarantee you would sell a ton of prints if you were to market them. I absolutely love this piece!

Chicken Soup: cheapest people on earth!

I used to get paid quite well - negotiated it up for every cartoon I sold. I stood in line to meet Jack Canfield once and chat with him, but mostly I dealt with editors.

I believe in being honest in these tough times. They used to offer $300 a cartoon. I went way up, and in fact never accepted $300. Then about 4 years ago they lowered it to $200. Then some were $100. Then some editors offered $50, "but more if they had money left over at the end." Haven't submitted to them in years.

These books sell about 1/4 million each. Worldwide, even more. Funny - not - the authors write a lot of inspirational self-help books on the side. Since actions speak louder than the words in your books, way to pave your way to hell, boys.

PS. Found you on Daryl's site!
